Agape' A Love Feast is a poem I written some years ago, under the
inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Over the years I wondered when my piece would be
displayed, because I had known that the Spirit of the Lord wasn't just talking
to me, but that He was talking to others as well.
While attending a writer's workshop at my
home church, I released this poem and had it published in a book titled "Potpourri,
Passion, and Praise-Words from Detroit World Outreach", a collection of
poems, testimonies, short stories and plays; published by Manifold Grace
Publishing House. Allow the whispering of the Holy Spirit to speak and fill
your heart with Love! Embrace!
You sent the food
to my plate
All I had to do was
give up the hate.
Agape’—A Love
Feast!
I searched and
searched all my life long
You opened wide
your love,
Your presence so
strong.
Agape’—A Love Feast!
You broke the bread
and gave of your cup
You made sure I was
fed
And now, you say, “Sup”.
Agape’—A Love Feast!
With outstretched
arms and the joy of company,
Your love is so
charmed. Humph!
While you’ve been
setting me free!
Agape’—A Love Feast!
With thanksgiving
and praise, I lift my hands to you,
I walk through this
maze as you command me to do!
Agape’—A Love Feast!
Judgment was not
your thought
And harm was not
your pleasure,
As you whisper ever
so softly saying, “I Love You!”
And gave me all
life’s treasures.
Agape’—A Love Feast!
Some may despise
and some may ignore,
But, you’re taking
good care of me and that I adore!
For you said, “Get in your prayer closet and shut the door,
‘Cause I’m filling you up so you can give to the
poor.”
Oh!
Your effervescence, your guiding light,
Your
subtleness and the quiet-still…
Your
rebuke and reprove
Has
caused me to heal!
No!
Money can’t buy and Riches can’t have,
Trickery
is fodder and I wondered,
Why
did you laugh?
This
God-kind-of-Love
Is
given throughout,
For
on that tree Lord,
You
hung with no doubt.
This
God-kind-of-Love
I
want to savor and taste,
As
I sup from your cup
I
shall eat off your plate!
Agape’—A Love Feast!
